Fleeting Flashback

I just spent the past 4 hours finishing a painting that has been causing me pain for 3 weeks. I have been so stressed out about all the homework I have to do to pull me through finals that I have been on the verge of tears all Thanksgiving break and have been putting off this particular task for days. I have been feeling pretty lousy about my creative skills and doubting myself all semester. I have been doing worse than the majority in my class. There's a difference between an art student and an artist. Who I want to be and who I am are two different things. I have completely lost myself to the workload this semester.
But in one night I finish my painting and reconnect with who I used to be.
